2023 – Sheard Packaging’s Year of Innovation: Our Journey Through Investment and Advancements

As MiC hits the road, booking slots are filling up rapidly, promising an exciting journey to explore the industry as partners.

Embarking on a journey of continual improvement, Sheard Packaging has not only revolutionised its on-the-go capabilities with MiC but has also made significant investments at our base in Halifax. Witnessing a transformation in our workplace environment, we’ve recently erected brand-new offices above our factory floor, accompanied by a state-of-the-art canteen, all meticulously designed and constructed by the experts at Equinox. These modern, well-lit spaces not only redefine our office aesthetics but also serve as a source of inspiration, contributing to an uplifted atmosphere that resonates positively with our dedicated workforce.

Operational investments kicked off with the implementation of the latest industry technology, beginning with the installation of a new, state-of-the-art Emba 175 QS line. This was swiftly followed by the integration of an Asahi automated flatbed die-cutting line. These strategic investments were further enhanced with the incorporation of automated pre-feeders, robot palletizers, and comprehensive conveyorisation, seamlessly connecting the new equipment to the entire factory infrastructure. To ensure an holistic approach, two pre-feeders were retrofitted onto existing case makers, completing the overall enhancement of operational efficiency and production capabilities.

Adding to the advancements at our site, we proudly announce the installation of a second Göpfert HQPP die cutter, a twin machine complementing our existing Göpfert. Positioned side-by-side with our newly automated flatbed die cutting line, this strategic addition represents a substantial investment geared towards setting unprecedented standards of excellence in die cutting and print definition. The synergy of these twin machines enhances our production capabilities, ensuring precision and efficiency that align with our commitment to delivering best in class corrugated solutions.
